Mrs. Margaret Eagan

Mrs. Margaret Eagan, 82, died at her home at Ayrshire Sunday afternoon following an illness of some duration. The funeral was held Wednesday. Services were conducted in the Sacred Heart church at Ayrshire. The pastor, Rev. Leo McCoy, officiated. Interment was in the Ayrshire cemetery with the J.J. Maring and Son Funeral Home in charge. The pall bearers were Clem, Wm., and Jos. P. Hand, Alfred Murray, L.J. Mulroney and Corporal J. Emmet Eagan. There was a large attendance of old neighbors and friends.
Margaret Hand, daughter of the late John and Margaret Hand, was born in Allamakee, Iowa, on Aug. 18, 1858. When she was ten years old, she came with her parents to Palo Alto county where the family settled on a farm in Great Oak township. Here she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Thos. C. Eagan on Oct. 7, 1885. Mr. Eagan passed away many years ago. Mrs. Eagan remained on the farm until 1923 when she moved to her present home in Ayrshire. The deceased is survived by the following sons and daughters: John Eagan, Englewood, Colo., M.E. Eagan, Rockfield, Wis., and W.F. Eagan and Keron Eagan, Emmetsburg, Elizabeth Rubendahl, Janesville, Wis., and Margaret Rogers, Houston, Texas. All except John Eagan of Colorado, who has been ill, were present at the funeral.
