Mrs. Murray, 87 Dies Suddenly; Held Last Rites

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Murray, 87, were held Monday at St. Thomas church with the Rev. Clarence Farrelly celebrating a requiem Mass. Burial was at St. John's cemetery with Martin Funeral home in charge.
Mrs. Murray died suddenly at Palo Alto Memorial hospital. The former Elizabeth Hand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hand, was born Aug. 13, 1872 in Allamakee county and had resided in Emmetsburg for many years. Her husband, John Murray, whom she married April 21, 1898 in Ayrshire died several years ago.
Surviving are two children, Arnold and Alfred Murray, both of this city. Four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
The pallbearers were W.F. Eagan, R.M. Hand, Gerald Hand, Victor Hand, J.P. Hand and Cletus Oliver.
The Catholic Daughters of America of which Mrs. Murray was a member attended the services in a body.
