Rites Held for Mrs. Aylward

Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Aylward, 81, of Emmetsburg, were held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father C.E. Farrelly, pastor, officiating at the requiem Mass.
Pallbearers were Donald Murphy, Bill O'Leary, Douglas White, Dale Weir, Robert O'Dell and Carl Holmquist. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery with the Martin Funeral Home in charge. The Rosary was recited at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Aylward died Tuesday evening at the Palo Alto Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.
The former Mary Agnes Phillips, she was born April 25, 1883 to Mr. and Mrs. William Phillips in Chicago, Ill. She came to Emmetsburg when she was 12 yeas old and made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Murphy. She was married Sept. 22, 1908 to Edward Aylward at Assumption Catholic Church here.
Mrs. Aylward is survived by her husband, Edward.

Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Martin Mimbach of Sexton, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bennett of Minneapolis, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Murphy of Cherokee, Mrs. Robert Shimons and Mrs. Kitty Shimons, both of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Monty Hakes of Laurens and Mrs. Merl Mohr and Mrs. George Ferris of Spencer.
