John Grewell Rites To Be Held Tuesday

Funeral services for John Covington Grewell, 89, of Emmetsburg will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church with the Reverend C. E. Farrelly officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery at Ruthven with Martin's in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Grewell died February 2 at Lakeview Nursing home of a prolonged illness.

Born October 20 3, 1873, in Clemons, Iowa, he was the son of Albert and Elizabeth Grewell and farmed most of his life around Emmetsburg. On July 5, 1897 he married Margaret M. Waldron in Emmetsburg. They were the parents of seven children, all of whom survive.

They include: Maurice D. of Brisbane, California, Mrs. Kenneth Bradley of Emmetsburg, Edward J. of Oak Park, Illinois, Mrs. C. P. Brothers, South Sioux City, Nebraska, Val B. of Fort Dodge, Charles J. of Sacramento, California, and Mrs. Art Anderson of Rapid City, S.D.

Mr. Grewell was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers, Bernard O. of Brainerd, Minnesota and William of Arkansas Pass, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Raymond Waldron, John Wilcox, Clifford Nicol, Robert Gappa, John Brothers and Robert Waldron.
