Marvin E. Mogler, 77
1929-2006

Marvin E. Mogler, 77, of Fort Dodge, died Aug 30, 2006, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the First Evangelical Free Church, with the Rev. Al Lewis officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery with military graveside honors presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856. The visitation is Monday, Sept. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Marvin is survived by his wife Beverly, his children, Caren (Mike) Kientoff, Indianola, IA; Carla Beck, Burlington; Curt Mogler, Webster City, IA; Chuck (Jerry) Mogler, Manson, IA; ten grandchildren, Keely, Corey, Nathan, Justin, Danielle, Logan, Austin, Dakota, Jordan and Jazmin; and one great-grandchild on the way; his brothers, Robert, Prescott, AZ; Arthur, Whittemore; Kenneth, Dakota City, NE; Duane, Whittemore; and Calvin, Dayton; sisters, Arlene Esslinger, Verlas Meyer and Jeannette Montgomery, all of Sebatha, KA; Esther Day, Estherville; Mildred Ricke, Garner, Ruth Kerber, Emmetsburg; and Bernice Erickson, Hardy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Tillie Mogler, his son Craig and twin sons, Rodney and Roger, and his sister Lucinda Berninghaus.

Marvin Eli Mogler, the son of Samuel and Tillie (Gerber) Mogler, was born June 7, 1929, at Lester, Iowa. He attended Whittemore schools. From 1954-56 Marvin served in the U.S. Army, in Korea and Japan. On Nov. 24, 1957, Marvin was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Krug at West Bend, Iowa. The couple lived in Sac City until moving to Fort Dodge in 1960. He was employed with Fuller Brush Company, as a semi-truck driver, self-employed in sales and also drove the DART bus for the City of Fort Dodge. Marvin had been a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown since 1998.

Marvin was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church and Odd Fellows.
