1909-2006

Melbert Thomann, 96, of West Bend, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the West Bend Care Center. Services were held Saturday, April 15th, 2:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, West Bend, the church ministers officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 12:00 noon until service time Saturday at the Apostolic Christian Church. Harris Funeral Home, West Bend is in charge of arrangements.

Melbert E. Thomann, the son of Joseph and Christian Thomann was born December 8, 1909 in West Bend, Iowa, where he was raised and educated, graduating from the West Bend High School. Melbert lived and farmed in the West Bend area his entire life. He had been a resident of the West Bend Care Center since 1995.

Survivors include his brother Earle (Shirley) Thomann of Rochester, Minnesota and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harry, Frank, Robert and Gordon and sisters, Lydia Gordon, Edna Coleman, Josephine Thomann, Lily Mogler, Helen Thomann and Mary Thomann. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church, West Bend.
