Death of Miss Ida J. Rowe.

Saturday evening at 8:10 Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Rowe, of this city, were called upon to mourn the death of their oldest daughter, Miss Ida J., who was taken ill last November. Though not a surprise the sad affair has occasioned general sorrow among the many friends of the family in the community. Every effort possible was made by her soliciting parents to bring about her recovery, and at times she rallied but Providence decreed otherwise and she was finally called to her eternal reward. The funeral was held Monday at 4 p.m. . The services were conducted at the M.E. church by the pastor, Rev. S. R. Beatty. The floral offerings, the tributes of devoted friends, were numerous and beautiful. The pall bearers were W.B. Freeman, Ernest Freeman, Geo. Sturtevant, Wm. Beck, Frank Harrison and Harry Scott. The remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

The deceased was born in Emmetsburg, March 29, 1886. She received her education in our city schools and was a young lady of much promise. She had a bright mind and a most cheerful disposition. She made warm friends of those who associated with her in childhood and in more advanced years. She was the idol of hopeful anxious parents and the devoted companion of a most affectionate sister. She was called from a happy home when life’s prospects were brightest, just as she was about to enter upon a career of activity and usefulness. Death under such circumstances is indeed sad, but such is the experience of many who course the earthly journey. The sympathy of all is extended to the surviving parents and sister.
