Death of Mrs. Davis
Mrs. Elizabeth Davis the aged mother of Wm. H., Frank A. and Ed H. Davis died at the home of the latter at 410 West Washington Avenue last Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Davis was born in Augusta, Maine, Nov. 26, 1829. She came to this state in the early days and was united in marriage to E.W. Davis at Rome, Iowa. Ten children was the result of this union. They came to Red Oak in 1893 where shortly after she was left a widow by the death of her husband whom she survived 10 years. The living children are: Mrs. John G. Poinsett of Council Bluffs, Wm. H. Davis, of Red Oak, Mrs. Harry Brown, of Red Oak, F.H. Davis of David City, Neb., and E.H. Davis, of Red Oak. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Martin at the home where she died. Music was furnished by the ladies of the Christian church. The remains were interred in the Red Oak cemetery by the side of her husband.
NOTE: Gravestone records indicate Elizabeth's maiden name as Tenney and her date of death was November 13, 1904.
