Funeral services for Mabel A. Chrisman were held on Sunday, December 11, 1960 at the Sulphur Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul C. Ellis officiating. Concluding service and interment was in the Guss Cemetery. Mabel Alberta Chrisman, daughter of Edward and Eva (VanFosson) Cowan, was born in Blanchard, Iowa on April 7, 1909; and passed away Dec. 8, 1960. She grew up in the Northboro vicinity. On October 26, 1928, she was united in marriage to Oliver Chrisman. In 1932, Mr. and Mrs. Chrisman moved to the Guss community, where they have lived ever since. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thelbert Kendrick, and by three grandsons, Jackie, Dennis and Randall Kendrick, all of New Market, Iowa. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Eva Gillespie of Omaha, Nebr.; and four sisters, Mrs. Michael Bockman of Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Mike Hickman, Gooding, Idaho; Mrs. Faye Jones of Rapid City, South Dakota and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Maust of Lansing, Iowa, Iowa; two brothers, Bill Cowan of Lake Manawa, Iowa and Bob Cowan of Red Oak and by many nieces and nephews.
