Obituary CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Apr 6, 1922

Dr. H.J. Herron - The many friends of Dr H.J. Herron were greatly surprised and grieved Monday, April 4rd, to learn of his passing away, from a short attack of pneumonia. Relatives from a distance were promptly notified, and the funeral was held this Wednesday afternoon, from the U.P. Church, of which he was an active and devoted member. The services were in charge of the pastor, Rev W.C. Williamson, assisted by Rev J.M. Williams, the Methodist minister, and attended by a large concourse of people, Dr. Herron having attained a large circle of friends since he and Mrs. Herron came and started their Chiropractic office something like two years ago.

The pallbearers were members of the church session, assisted by members of the Gospel Team, of which Dr. Herron has been the efficient president. Interment was in Clarinda Cemtery.

Dr Herron. was past 45 years of age, having been born Jan 10th 1877, in Winfield, Ia. At the age of seven he accompanied the family to Antelope County, Nebraska, where he grew to manhood, attending Ewing High School. He was a religious boy, uniting with the United Presbyterian Church when twelve years of age. Dec. 17th, 1902 he was married to Miss Anna McClurg, of Pawnee City, Nebr., and they engaged in farming, in Antelope County, Nebr., until 1908, when they moved to Sterling, Kans., continuing to farm until the decision was made to become chiropractors, when Dr. and Mrs. Herron together entered the Palmer school of Chiropractic in Davenport, graduating together in 1913. They first practiced in Albia, later comingto Clarinda, in 1919.

Dr. Herron is survived by his wife, also by a son George R., aged 18, and daughter, Esther Elizabeth of twelve years, besides a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Herron of Lincoln, Nebr., and one brother, Leonard S. Herron of Omaha.
