Funeral services for Mrs. Stanley McDougall were held at the American Lutheran Church in Melvin, Friday, September 20, 1968 at 1:30 p.m. with a family service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. H.H. Adix officiating. Merrie Kay Anderson, organist, accompanied the quartet, Ronald Schultz, Simon Brandt, Tom Graves and Bruce Knock as they sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "My Faith Looks Up To Thee."
Beulah Elaine McDougall, 48, passed away Sunday evening, September 15, 1968 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sioux City. She was born October 31, 1919 at Ocheyedan, the daughter of John H. and Amy (Jacobs) Graves. She graduated from the Ocheyedan High School in 1936, attended the University of Northern Iowa.
On July 10, 1940 she and Stanley McDougall were married at Hardington, Neb. To this union four children were born: Sharon, Mrs. D.C. Johnson, of Las Vegas, Nev., Mary Sue of Hastings, Neb., and two sons, Tom, with the Air Force in Germany and Ken at home. They survive her passing. She is also survived by her husband, Stanley and three sisters and two brothers Maymie, Mrs. G.W. Strayer, Verna, Mrs. F.E. Eyraud, Donald Graves, all of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Pearl Kout of Ocheyedan and John A. Graves of Melvin.
Casketbearers were Joel Grau, Robert Wynia, Ronald Wynia, Jeff Schultz, Rex Michelson and Jerry Watterson. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Winkel, Albert Graves, Ted Schutte, Fred Year, Harold Oostermann and Raymond Schmidt. Burial was in the Baker Township Cemetery at Melvin, with Walton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McDougall taught school for a time, she was employed at the ASCS office and was working in the County Engineers office when she became ill. Mrs. McDougall was a member of the American Lutheran Church, was baptized in 1920 and confirmed in 1945. She taught Sunday School and was active in church work.
