MRS. L.H. HEETLAND DIES UNEXPECTEDLY SATURDAY EVENING

Daughters Fly From Germany For Services To Be Held Here Today At Methodist Church.

The Sibley community was shocked Saturday evening by the news of the unexpected death of Mrs. L.H. Heetland, wife of Sibley's pioneer physician, Dr. L.H. Heetland.

Returning from Sheldon on the evening bus, Mrs. Heetland suffered a severe heart attack and was taken off the bus by ambulance just as they were nearing Sibley. She passed away upon her arrival at the Osceola Hospital.

Services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in First Methodist Church with the Rev. Harvey Nelson in charge. Interment will be in the Sibley cemetery.

Bertha (Bush) Heetland was born May 6, 1880 to Matthew and Amelia (Spinharney) Bush of Cleghorn, Iowa. Her education was received at Drake University. Her marriage to Dr. L.H. Heetland took place October 8, 1902. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Bertha, Theresse and Merrie June. A son, Wilhelm Louis died in infancy.

Her daughter, Bertha L. Heetland of Chief Special Service, Headquarters E.N.C.O.M., Frankfort, Germany, and Theresse Heetland, Assistant Command Hostess Special Service Office, Headquarters U.S.A.E., Wiesbaden, Germany, arrived by plane from Germany Tuesday afternoon, reaching LaGuardia Field, New York City shortly after 3 p.m.

Miss Merrie June Heetland, who teaches music in the Detroit Conservatory of Music, arrived by plane Monday from Detroit, Mich. Mrs. Lloyd Dynes, only sister of Mrs. Heetland, arrived by plane from the west coast Wednesday to attend the services.
