SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. EDITH KOUT
Had Lived In Osceola County All Of Her Life
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church, Ocheyedan, for Mrs. Edith Kout, 63, lifelong resident of Osceola county. They were conducted by Rev. Watterman and Rev. Ralston. Interment was in the Ocheyedan cemetery.
Mrs. Kout died Saturday morning at 8:30 in the Ocheyedan hospital. She underwent an operation two weeks ago.
Edith Margaret Hesebeck was born in Ocheyedan township on a farm five miles south of Ocheyedan, August 2, 1874. She grew to womanhood in that community.
On April 22, 1897, she was married to J.H. Kout, at Sibley. He died September 18, 1919. To this union were born two childten: J. Hubert Kout and Irene Rose Kallsen, both of Ocheyedan.
Three brothers and five sisters survive. They are: Will, of Worthington, Minnesota, and Henry; Mrs. Anna Verthein of Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Tillie Rouse, Mrs. Mae Rouse and Mrs. Lena Blair of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Minnie Saienga of Melvin, Iowa. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Dora Graves of Bethel, Mo.
Mrs. Kout was possessed of a light-hearted disposition, she was a good neighbor and an affectionate and kind mother.
She was an active member of the Methodist Ladies Aid society, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Women's Relief Corps.
