Funeral services for Pearl E. Kout will be held Thursday, August 1 at the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan. Rev. William McAlpine officiating. Burial will be in Ocheyedan Township Cemetery. Walton-Roste Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pearl Eloise (Graves) Kout was born June 18, 1907 at Melvin to John H. and Amy (Jacobs) Graves. When she was six, she moved with her family to Ocheyedan where she grew up and graduated from Ocheyedan high school in 1925.

On August 23, 1926 she was united in marriage to Joseph H. Kout at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Ia. Following their marriage, they lived at Ocheyedan where both worked at the post office. Pearl was a dedicated worker at the Ocheyedan public library. She was active in the Campfire Girls, Women's Society, and United Methodist Church.

After her husband died on December 17, 1965, Pearl continued to make her home in Ocheyedan until December 7, 1990 when she became a resident of Country View Manor in Sibley. She died at the Manor on July 29, at the age of 84.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
