Henry Graves, Melvin died Tuesday, May 15
Henry A. Graves of Melvin died Tuesday, May 15, in a local hospital of a malignant tumor. He had been brought to the hospital about nine days prior to his death.
Henry A. Graves was born to Minnie (Rhode) and Hans Graves on a farm east of Melvin, March 30, 1880. His entire life was spent in the Melvin community. He attended the school for the deaf at Council Bluffs. Immediate relatives who survive are his mother, Mrs. Emil Berendt, Melvin; sisters, Mrs. William Imhoff, Ocheyedan, Mrs. Miles Hokuf, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Hitchcock, Melvin; brothers, Fred, Louis, Billie, W.P. and Emil, all of Melvin and members of the Graves Bros. Construction Company. His father preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday or Sunday in Melvin, the funeral arrangements had not been completed at the time of going to press. Interment will be in the Baker cemetery.
