William Imhoff, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Imhoff was born Sept. 7, 1876 at Potosi, Wisc. Together with his parents came to this vicinity in the spring of 1889.

On May 24, 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Lisettie Graves. For some time he worked in the blacksmith shop with his brother, Ben Imhoff. In 1908 he assumed the management of the restaurant now owned by George Riecks and son, continuing this work for five years. For some time he engaged in farming and later in bridge work. He lived in Ocheyedan for eleven years but the last seven years has made his home in Melvin. For the past eight years he worked for the Graves Construction Co., of Melvin.

April 9, 1933 he was confirmed in our Melvin Lutheran church with a class of ten children and fifteen adults. He had learned to love his Savior and preserved much interest in the welfare of the church.

On the afternoon of May 21, he fell frLOom a scaffold while working on a farm four miles southeast of Harris. He never regained consciousness and passed away at four o'clock the same afternoon, having attained the age of 59 years, 8 months and 20 days.

Besides his wife and daughter, Lula, he leaves to mourn his departure, three brothers, Ben of Milo, N.D., his twin brother, Joe, of Farmer, S.D., and Henry of Melvin; one half brother Frank Fischnick of Cassville, Wisc.; two half sisters, Mrs. Mary Heilenn of Cassville, Wisc., and Mrs. Josephine Kirschbaum of Denver, Colo. Also a sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred Fischnick of Cassville, Wisc. His parents, one brother, three sisters, and one half brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, May 31, in the Melvin Lutheran church with the Rev. G. Goeken in charge.

Out of town relatives, who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ben Imhoff, Milo, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Imhoff, Alexandria, S.D., Mrs. Kate Fischnick, Cassville, Wisc.; Mr. and Mrs. Gerhart Riecks, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Riecks and John Rhode of Danbury, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Murphy, Sutherland; Mr. and Mrs. Percy Livingston, Harris; Henry Ahrends and family of Milford; Wm. Graves, Spirit Lake; Mrs. Lena Graves, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Graves, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Graves and John Graves from Ocheyedan; Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Buchan and family, Alpha, Minn.; Mrs. Miles Hokuf, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Knapp, Sibley; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Schon and family of George, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
