John Mayne was born on October 6, 1819, and died October 5, 1900. He had lived a long, busy and successful life, and is now at rest. Two children, Mrs. P. Velie and E.A. Mayne, both of this place, survive him. His remains were taken to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, for burial.
