FONDA - Mrs. Alice Carpenter, 85, of Western Turnpike Road RD 1, died last night, October 15, 1985, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, shortly after being admitted after being stricken at the Duanesburg home of her daughter. Born April 25, 1900, in Sanborn, Iowa, she was the daughter of Bruce J. and Lizzie Fike Maust. She came to this area in 1936 and was a member of the Fonda Reformed Church and its Ladies Guild. On Aug. 26, 1922, she married William A. Carpenter, who died Jan. 8, 1982. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Orsini of Duanesburg; three sons, Robert P. Carpenter of Catskill, Emery L. Carpenter of Fultonville, RD and Harold L. Carpenter of Fonda; a brother, Robert Maust of Lansing, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, N.Y., with the Rev. Orville J. Hine, officiating. Source: A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Johnston, New York
