Andrew H. Post was born on October 20, 1914, in Ocheyedan, Iowa, the son of Henry (Hendrick) and Tillie (Tietje Westra) Post. He lived his youth in Ocheyedan where he attended school.

He was united in marriage to Lucy De Boer of Bigelow, Minnesota, on February 8, 1940, at her parent's home in Bigelow. They lived and farmed in rural Ocheyedan for six years.

They moved to Indian Lake, Minnesota, where they lived and farmed until 1953, when they moved to Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

In 1980, they retired from farming and moved to Sibley, Iowa. While he was retired, Andrew worked for the Daily Globe in Worthington, Minnesota, as a drop worker for different communities.

Andrew was presently a member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley, Iowa, where he formerly served as a trustee. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and the Indian Lake Baptist Church in Indian Lake, where he served as deacon and trustee.

He passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Country View Manor in Sibley, at the age of 91 years, one month and 18 days.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Lucy Post of Sibley, IA; five children: Henry and Lucy Post of Blooming Prairie, MN, Janet and Louis Rowe of Richmond, MO, Tena and Wesley Oliveira of Riverview, FL, Ben and Linda Post of Council Bluffs, IA, Loretta and Paul Lassahn of Montgomery, MN; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother: Garret and Jean Post of Sibley, IA; two sisters: Lena and Ed Meurs of Clinton, IL, Jennie Walberg of Sibley, IA; sister-in-law: Dorothy Post of Sibley, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: one sister in infancy and Cornelia Verhoff; one brother: John Post.
