Randy Boeke, age 50, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral Services will be Monday, May 16, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, Iowa. Rev. Russell Anderson officiating.

Burial in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Chapel in Ocheyedan.

Randall William Boeke was born on September 11, 1960, in Sheldon, Iowa. He is the son of William and Mary Ann (Van Briesen) Boeke. He lived his youth in rural Ocheyedan, Iowa, and attended school at Zion Lutheran, Horton Township, until the 5th grade. He then attended Ocheyedan Public School, where he graduated from high school, in 1978.

He married Susan Peters of Harris, Iowa, on January 16, 1982. To this union two children were born, Travis and Megan.

He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township, rural Ocheyedan. He later attended the First Reformed Church in Melvin, Iowa.

Randy lived and farmed in rural Ocheyedan. He enjoyed going on fishing trips to South Dakota with his good friends. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes Fan and enjoyed attending the football games. He liked to read the newspaper thoroughly and listened to WNAX Yankton Country for the farm reports. Randy’s family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Emma and Brysen.

He passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Those left to cherish his memories are his son and daughter-in-law: Travis and Jill Boeke and their daughter Emma of Ocheyedan, IA; his daughter and son-in-law: Megan and Brian Loerts and their son Brysen of Little Rock, IA; his mother: Mary Ann Boeke of Ocheyedan, IA; one brother and sister-in-law: Ron and Nancy Boeke of Verdi, MN and their children: Chad and wife Katasha Boeke, Chris and wife Maria Boeke, Cory Boeke and fiancee Sandra Tuinstra.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Boeke.
