William “Bill” H. Boeke, age 75, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be Monday, March 21, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan. Rev. Russell Anderson officiating.

Burial in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, from 1:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Chapel in Ocheyedan.

William “Bill” Boeke was born on December 5, 1935, in Sibley, Iowa. He was the son of Leo and Rena (Brunemier) Boeke. Bill was baptized and confirmed in his faith at the Zion Lutheran Church in Horton Township, Ocheyedan, Iowa. His confirmation verse was Revelations 2:10.
He lived his youth in the Ocheyedan, Iowa area, where he attended Horton Township Country School and Zion Lutheran Parochial School. He graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1954.

Bill was united in marriage to Mary Ann Van Briesen of Ocheyedan, Iowa, on December 14, 1956, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Horton Township. They lived in the Ocheyedan area, where Bill drove a gravel truck for Van Drie Gravel and Rickabaugh Gravel, until 1960, when they started farming near Ocheyedan. He also drove truck for Sibley Concrete and Tile Company and a livestock truck for Bill Timmons. They moved to Verdi, Minnesota, where they farmed from 1985 to 1999.

In 1999, they returned to Ocheyedan to retire.
Bill enjoyed driving around in his pick-up and he looked forward to getting together with his coffee buddies. He also enjoyed participating in Antique Case Tractor Rides across northwest Iowa.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan.

He passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, Iowa.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Mary Ann Boeke of Ocheyedan, IA; his two sons: Ron and wife Nancy Boeke of Verdi, MN, Randy Boeke of Ocheyedan, IA; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother: Wilbur Boeke of Sibley, IA; two sisters: Dorothy Schafer of Minneapolis, MN, Donna and husband Evertt Michelson of Kansas City, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, and brother-in-law, Bill Schafer.
