Pearl Jacobsma, age 83, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the Country View Manor in Sibley.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Sibley. Rev. Roger Bouwman officiating.

Burial at 10:15 A.M. Saturday at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley prior to the Memorial Service.

Visitation will be Friday, September 10, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.

Pearl Ilene Jacobsma was born on August 19, 1927, in Little Rock, Iowa. She was the daughter of John J. and Susie (Martens) Christians. She lived her youth in the Little Rock and Sibley, Iowa areas and attended a country school in Little Rock. She worked for J.R. Hawks Company candling eggs.

She was united in marriage to Lloyd Jacobsma of Sibley, Iowa, on August 29, 1946, at the Christian Reformed Church Parsonage. They lived in Sibley, where Pearl worked for the Creamery for 3 years before she was a stay-at-home mom. Lloyd passed away on May 9, 1998. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Sibley, where she attended and enjoyed Bible Study. Pearl enjoyed her family. She liked having her family and friends over for coffee and visiting. Cooking and baking was something she did for enjoyment. She moved to the Country View Manor on May 16, 2006, where she passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Larry and Gayle Jacobsma of Sibley, IA, Colleen Jacobsma and significant other, Mike Velleux, of Marshfield, WI, Brenda and Bruce Seivert of Sibley, IA; 2 grandchildren: Luke Janssen and Clark Jacobsma; 3 great-grandchildren; one sister: Johnnie (Ron) Olson of Henning, MN; sisters-in-law: Effie Jacobsma of Sibley, IA, Anna Mae Hargens of Sibley, IA, Leona Starkenburg of Sanborn, IA, Marion Jacobsma of Worthington, MN, Lois Jacobsma of Adel, IA, Geneva Bonnema of Willmar, MN, LaDonne Christians of Lake Wilson, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Lloyd; 2 brothers: Ray Christians and Merle Christians; 3 sisters: Gladys Dicus, Tillie Van Der Wilt and Evelyn Rachuy.
