Charnell Loetscher, age 77, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley. Rev. Gary Van Heukelom officiating.

Burial in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

Visitation will be Friday, July 2, 2010, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.

Charnell L. Loetscher was born on May 15, 1933, in Little Rock, Iowa. She was the daughter of William and Tena (Buss) Reverts. She lived her youth in the Little Rock area, where she attended a country school.

She was united in marriage to Edward A. Loetscher of Sibley, Iowa, on December 12, 1951, in Little Rock. They lived in Sibley, where Charnell worked with Ed, driving a milk truck and hauling milk cans. She worked at the Country View Manor and later at Exo Pack for many years.

She was a wonderful helpmate for Ed. She was protective of her family and always available for them. She worked with her children in 4-H and took pride in teaching other children and her own children the essentials of life. She was strong-willed and nonjudgmental of others. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Charnell enjoyed gardening, canning, and sharing her vegetables with others. She also enjoyed growing gladiolas and roses, and quilting.
She was baptized in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of George, Iowa, and later transferred her membership to the First Reformed Church in Sibley, Iowa, where she attended for many years.

She passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 58 years: Edward Loetscher of Sibley, IA; her children: Donna C. Basile of Westminster, CO, Dennis W. and Krista Loetscher of Littleton, CO, Doreen L. and Dennis Hatting of Ashton, IA; 8 grandchildren: Gregory Basile, Michelle Loetscher, Christina Loetsher, Rachel Loetscher, Edward Loetscher, Christopher Loetscher, Emily Loetscher, Amanda Hatting; 3 great-grandchildren: Eric Loetscher, Tyler Loetscher, Ahlyssa Loetscher.

She was preceded in death by one son: Duane Loetscher; her parents; 3 brothers: Vernon Reverts, Calvin Reverts, and Delmar Reverts.
