I was very confused by the census records you sent as to the fact that Frederick and Louisa's ages and then birthdates range from 1825 to 1837. The children's ages stayed about where they should be. However yesterday I found an 1875 census that has George in New York at age 16, when I know the George I am looking for was in Dubuque, Iowa according to a 1870 and 1880 census, with him at age 9 and 18 respectively.
Are there any actual records for these children, that may point to where they came from or their parents? Thanks
