Hi Cindy, You were born long after the Orphan Trains stopped in 1929. There were many orphanages located in Iowa that you might contact from address' you may obtain at your local library & or you may place an inquiry at the Gen Web site for the county that Jefferson is located in. This may also be obtained at your local library.
Many times an adoption records are considered as "Closed" records & you might need a court order to get them opened. Ask at your local court house regarding this situation.
