I have done a book on Gysbert Van Beek and his wife Gysbertje DeMots. In this book I have a lot of information on the Jacob Koster and Maatje DeMots family as the two DeMots women were sisters. However, my information doesn't include why the sons Jake and Will were in Pine Rest Mich, which was a mental health institution supported by the Reformed base churches. My book does have a lot of family and extended family in it. I would imagine some records could be retrieved from Pine Rest as both parties would be deceased. Send me your address directly to my email as above and I will copy some of the pages in my book for you. You also can buy a copy of the book for $20. plus postage. It would be well worth your time to get this book.
Obituaries could be retrieve from the Sanborn Iowa newspaper archives.
