Fred & Bertha were my father's parents. His name
was Harold, he was born in 1910 and died in 1981, I was named after my grandfather. Bertha died in 1919. Fred remarried and lived in Hartley until he died in 1964. My dad also had two other brothers, Milford and Herbert. My uncle Herbert's middle name was Henrey, named after my great grandfather. My great grandfather was born in Germany in 1852, he is buried in Germantown Iowa, he also died in 1919. It is my understanding both died of the flu. I am not sure if my grandfather Fred was also born in Germany or Germantown Iowa in 1882. Fred and Edith (who he married after Bertha died) are also buried in Hartley.
