John Schroeder Services Held Dec. 27

Services for John Schroeder were held Friday, December 27 at the Gaudian Funeral Home with Rev. William Smith of the Siloam Lutheran Church officiating.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Traver, Eldon Traver, Robert Faust, Harland Wickstrom, Gilbert Hollister and Ray Niebuhr. Chauffeur was Oscar Schmith.

Pinal resting place was Prairie View Cemetery.


Johann W. Schroeder, the son of Wilhelm and Maria Schroeder was born on November 9, 1905 at Paullina, Iowa. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith on February 24, 1906. John received his education in the rural schools of this area and spent most of ads working days as a general laborer in Paullina. He worked for many years at the local lumber yard and assisted at the Prairie View Cemetery.

John suffered a heart attack about 12 years ago and had been taking it very easy the past few years. He went out on Monday of this week to shovel snow after the recent storm, and it was while he was shoveling snow, he suffered another heart attack that took his life at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 14 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing his son, Jack of Willmar, Minn., two grandchildren, one brother, Bob of Hartley, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Loretta (John) Thiessen of Gaza and Mrs. Louise (Ted) Shearer of Paullina.
