Services Held for Wilbert J. Hibbing

Services for Wilbert J. Hibbing were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 1984, at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home at Paullina, Iowa, with the Rev. Michael Wolfram officiating.

The pallbearers were Rodney Johannsen, Loren Johannsen, Dan Wittrock, Bill Johannsen, Marlin Johannsen and Jim Koehlmoos. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus " and "How Great Thou Art" were sung by the congregation with Mrs. Verla Hibbing at the organ. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa. The arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Wilbert J. Hibbing, the son of Henry and Anna Green Hibbing, was born April 1, 1923, on a farm near Paullina, Iowa. He received his education in O'Brien, County schools. He engaged in farming south of Paullina for many years until 1965 when he moved to Le Mars, Iowa. He resided there until 1980 when he made his home in Marcus, Iowa.

Wilbert passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 1984, at the Countryside Estates in Cherokee reaching the age of 61 years, 8 months and 18 days.

Wilbert was baptized into the Lutheran faith on May 6, 1923 and later confirmed on May 22, 1938, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina and was currently a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elsie Johannsen of Primghar, one brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Eleanor Hibbing of Elgin, Illinois and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Gertrude Caubarrus of Norfolk, Nebraska; also many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
