Death of Joseph Awe

Since October 3rd Mr. Joseph Awe, of Caledonia township, has been lingering between life and death and at last the end came at 9 o'clock this morning, and a good man has left us - gone to his eternal home. Mr. Awe was widely known. Few men have endeared themselves to all mankind in every station in life as did Mr. Awe. To know him was to respect him and admire his sterling qualities. A man of men, he endeared himself to his associates of all classes and commanded the respect and love of his more intimate friends. The first news of his sickness was the signal for universal anxiety which grew with each new hope and at last, with fate decreed, he was gathered to his Master.

Among his near kin who are left to mourn his loss are his wife and children, Fred, Chris, Eddy, and Lizzie, and his mother, all of whom are at home, Mrs. Feddy [Fedde] and Mrs. Schultz, sisters, and John Awe, a brother, all of Cawker City, Kansas.

The funeral will be conducted from the late home of deceased next Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
