Henry Strampe Rites Held at Spirit Lake

Henry F. (Hy) Strampe, 77, Okoboji, long time resident of Estherville, died Dec. 25, 1972, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

Services were held at 1 p.m. today at Harpole-Tenold Funeral Home, Spirit Lake, with the Rev. M. J. Ansorge officiating. Burial will be made in Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina.

Mr. Strampe was born Oct 3, 1895, in Paullina to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strampe. He studied at Concordia Seminary, St Paul, and served in the Armed Forces during World War I. He was married on July 20, 1921, to Vera Peterson at Paullina.

While living in Estherville, he was proprietor of Pla-Mor Bowling Alleys and was a golf pro at Brooks Golf Course. He also resided at Ames and Okoboji.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Spirit Lake, a 50-year member of the American Legion and O'Brien County commander in 1933.

Survivors include his wife, Vera; one son, Robert H. Strampe, Detroit; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Blake, Downey, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were Clarence Mathiessen, Estherville; W. C. Westby, Jackson; Elmer Sangl, Lakefield; L. W. Fitch; Clarence Walters, Storm Lake; Delbert Hinsch, Estherville; Jack Little, Arnolds Park; and Weston Ralston, Cedar Rapids.

Serving as active pallbearers were Ed Foreman, Toby Parriott, Blaine Hoien of Orleans, Jack Colwell, Maynard Lamack and Donald Lamack of rural Estherville.
