Services Held for Mamie K. Richter

Services for Mamie K. Richter were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 1986, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Terry Jobst officiating. The pallbearers were Randy Richter, Richard Richter, Dennis Hansen, Gordon Richter, Daniel Richter and Alan Benner. "How Great Thou Art" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" were sung by the congregation with Mrs. Verla Hibbing at the organ. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Mamie K. Richter, the daughter of Nick and Mary Thormann Ahlers, was born July 21, 1896, at Gilbertsville, Iowa. She moved with her family to O'Brien County where she received her education.
On February 27, 1921, she was united in marriage to Paul Richter in O'Brien County, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed west of Paullina until retiring in 1949 when the couple moved into Paullina. Paul passed away on August 29, 1967, at the family farm near Granville in O'Brien County, Iowa. Mamie remained at the family home until entering the Wide View Nursing Home in January of 1983.

Mamie passed away on Friday, July 18, 1986, at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa, reaching the age of 89 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Mamie was baptized and later confirmed in 1911 and was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.

Mamie leaves to mourn her passing her children: four sons, Lawrence Richter of Lime Springs, Iowa, Luvern Richter of Peterson, Melvin Richter of Hartley and Leonard Richter of Granville, Iowa; two daughters: Helen (Mrs. Alfred) Hansen of Evansdale, Iowa, and Delores (Mrs. Harry) Benner of Las Vegas, Nevada; also 26 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; two brothers: Nick Ahles of Jesup, Iowa and Jack Everhart of Adrian, Minn.; and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Ann) Schnurr of Sioux City; also a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandsons, four great grandchildren, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
