Funeral services for Edmund C. Petersen were held at 1.30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 1996, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Leroy Riemer officiating. "Lord, Take My Hand and Lead Me," "Children of the Heavenly Father" and "Go My Children With My Blessing" were sung by the Congregation. Organist was Mrs. Alice Fintel. The casket bearers were Larry Hoger, Levi Hoger, Chris Hoger, Jay Fritz, Brian Fritz and Junior Hohbach. Interment was at the Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Edmund C. Petersen was born August 17, 1906, at Sutherland, Iowa, to John and Alma Petersen. His family moved to Minnesota where he grew up, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and received his education He was one of 10 children. He came to the Paullina area as a young man, where he met and married Alice Hoger on November 19, 1930. The couple had one daughter, Janice, who died in infancy. Ed and Alice farmed near Paullina and Marcus, and he was also a carpenter. His wife, Alice, preceded him in death on June 10, 1966.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Enneking and after their marriage, the couple made their home in Marcus. Ed continued to work as a carpenter in the Marcus area. Ed had been a resident of the Millie's Rest Home in Sutherland the last few years, where he passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 1996, reaching the age of 89 years, 6 months and 19 days.

Ed has two remaining sisters: Mrs. Rose Pahl and Mrs. Alice Erickson of New Ulm, Minnesota; several brothers and sisters in law; nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, parents, brothers and sisters.
