Jasper Henry Imwiehe was born July 25, 1847 in [illegible], Hanover, Germany. When at the age of 22, he left the [illegible] and came to America. residing at Homewood, Cook County, Illinois. After residing there for ten years he came to Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa.

It was there on Nov, 30, 1879, he was united in holy wedlock with Miss Dorathea Hoermann. With the exception of one year, which this couple spent in Kansas, they lived in the same township until they retired from active farm life. In 1909 when they moved to Paullina,

This couple was blessed with four children, three sons and one daughter. Two of these sons passed into eternity before the father.

Mr. Imwiehe was a devout member of the Lutheran church all his life, He was one of the organizers of the Lutheran church at Germantown and since his removal to Paullina was a voting member of the local Zion Lutheran church, at which church funeral service was conducted on Tues. afternoon.

Mr. Imwiehe was at the edge of the grave humanly speaking at least two times during his life, both times he was afflicted with a treacherous disease. Both times he regained full strength after a lengthy illness. His last illness was of rather short duration. His end was brought about by paralysis of the bowels.

He passed into the "glorious beyond" as we confidently may hope, on Friday evening of last week at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 5 days. His departure Is mourned by his bereaved widow, one son, one daughter, and four grandchildren, one brother, and a large number of more distant relatives and friends.
