Services for Eleanor Pyle Held May 29

Services in memory of Eleanor Pyle were held Saturday afternoon, May 29, 1976, at the United Methodist Church in Hartley. Rev. Lester Hancock officiated. Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge.

Eleanor Gertrude Pyle, nee Klever, the daughter of Bertus and Jessie Hildreth Klever, was born at Ocheyedan, Iowa, May 1, 1920. She attended schools near her childhood home and graduated from Melvin High School in 1936.

She as united in marriage at Melvin to Harold Pyle on December 19, 1940. They became the parents of six children. They lived in Melvin, Iowa, until moving to Hartley in 1966 and for the last eigh years, she was employed at Red's Cafe in Hartley.

She passed away suddenly at her home in Hartley on the morning of May 27, 1976 at the age of 56. Preceding her in death were her parents.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Melvin and the American Legion Auxiliary in Hartley.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; three sons, Richard of Spokane, Washington, Curtis and his wife Maria, and Clayton and his wife, Nancy, all of Hartley; and three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Ellen) Rachuy of Sioux City, Mrs. Frankie (Cheryl) Stanley of Spencer, and Karen Pyle of Hartley; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Henrieta) Saienga of Sutherland, and many other relatives and friends.
