The funeral of the late Mrs. G.W. Doyle, mention of whos death was made in our last issue, was held from the Methodist church last Saturday afternoon, Rev. W.O. Tompkins conducting the services. The remains were taken to the Doyle cemetery in Highland township and laid to rest along side of those of her husband, who died four years ago.

Deceased was born in Indiana, February 22, 1841, and died Monday, July 2, 1907, being 66 years of age.

With her husband she came to O'Brien county in 1870, taking a homestead in Highland township, where they lived until 1887, when they removed to Primghar, the husband dying here in 1903. Nine children were born to them, seven of whom are living and all of whom were present at the funeral: Mrs. J. Stearns, of Grant Township; J.F. Doyle of Primghar; Rev. Wm Doyle of Fontanell; Mrs. Cora Doling of Liberty township; Grant Doyle of Dallas County, Andrew Doyle, of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Lucy McDowell of Dale township.

Both Mrs. Doyle and her husband were devout earnest Christians, and both were earnest zealous workers in the Methodist church. They lived as they preached and their memory will ever be held in the highest esteem by all who knew them. Words would fail to describe the good they [have] done during their 37 years residence in this county, for many of their kind deeds were known to themselves and the recipient, but all over the county are people who will sincerely grieve over the news of their death. The most fitting tribute that we can pay to their memory is to say they were true to the God, their neighbors, and themselves.
