Mrs. Louise Blomgren

Louise Marie Olson-Blomgren was the youngest daughter of Michael Olson and his wife Albertina nee Petersen. She was born in Canton, South Dakota on the 29 of May, 1906.

In infancy she was baptized in the Norwegian Lutheran Church of that place and later after careful instruction she was confirmed in the same faith. She remained a firm believer in the doctrines of the Christian church and attended religious services as long as her failing health permitted.

After attending the public schools and graduating from the high school at Canton she was empoloyed at various places in her native city where he trustworthiness and friendly disposition won her many friends. There also she met her life's companion in the person of Mr. Ralph Blomgren of Hartley, at that time employed at Canton. They were married on December 26, 1932 at Canton, and have made their hom in Hartley. One son born to them died at birth.

The happiness of the young couple was shortlived for it soon became apparent that Mrs. Blomgren's health was failing and despite the best of medical care and the most devoted nursing by her loved ones, her condition became more and more alarming. In the spring of this year she was taken to the hospital at Iowa City which also proved of no avail.

A bitter blow fell on Mrs. Blomgren at that time when her father to whom she was greatly devoted passed away suddenly. After several weeks she returned to her home where she bore her cross cheerfully and patiently until the end which came peacefully on Saturday night, September 19 at 9:45. She attained the age of 36 years, 3 months, and 21 days.

Her early passing is deeply mourned by her husband, Mr. Ralph Blomgren; her mother, Mrs. Albertina Olson of Canton, South Dakota; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Augusta Blomgren of Hartley; her brothers, Thorval and Arthur Olson; and one sister, Mrs. Olga Waage, all of Canton; three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and other relatives and many friends.

She was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran church at Canton and of the Hartley unit of the Women's Relief Corps.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at the home with the Rev. F.W. Budy officiating. Interment was in Pleasant View cemetery.
