At the age of seven the deceased was left an orphan and went to make her home with her oldest sister, Mrs. L. W. Walker, of Sanborn, Iowa. There she remained until Jan. 25th, 1892, when she was married to Daniel Cockel[sic].

After their marriage, the deceased and her husband settled on a farm near Cleghorn. They continued there until the year 1920, when they moved to Paullina.

While near Cleghorn Mrs. Cockel united with the Christian church at Cleghorn and entered actively into the work of the church. In Paullina she was a member of the Grace Methodist church.

There survive her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Inez Thompson, of Cleghorn, Mrs. Mabel Anderson, Mrs. Grace Strampe, and Mrs. Mildred Malcom, all of Paullina; two sisters of Harris, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
