Services Held for Robert Richmond

Services were held in memory of Robert E. Richmond at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15 at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Paullina, with Father Thomas Munn officiating.
Pallbearers were Richard Jalas, Donald Krier, Kevin Tesch, Don Johnson, Harold Lange and Vance Van Buskirk. Ronald Schuknecht was chauffeur. Final resting place was Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina. Graveside military rites were presented by Russell West Post of the American Legion, and arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

Robert E. Richmond, son of Charles and Ethel Pennington Richmond, was born Aug. 7, 1920 at Oskaloosa, la. He attended schools in the Oskaloosa area. He was then called into the Navy which he served during World War II. On July 29, 1966 he was united in marriage to Mildred Malcolm in Peterson, la. After their marriage, the couple lived in Paullina and Robert was employed by the O'Brien County Care Facility in Primghar, before retiring in 1978.

Robert passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 1982 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Sioux City, reaching the age of 61 years, 11 months and six days.

He was a member of the DAV of Storm Lake, the VFW of Oskaloosa the American Legion of Paullina and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Robert leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mildred of Paullina; one son, Robert of Yorba Linda, California; one stepson, Glen Malcom of Griswold; one brother, Jack of Phoenix and a sister, Becky Keefe of Phoenix; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary.
