ervices held for Henry R. Kuiper

Services for Henry R. Kuiper were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 1987, at the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Gregory Bock officiating. The pallbearers were: Burdette Rohde, George Daum, Cy Kokenge, Larry Feldotto, Cliff Hellmann, and Dick Lemke. "Because He Lives" was sung by the congregation. "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" was sung by Marj Feltman. Organist: Kay Grosvenor. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home. There was a Rising Star Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 1987.

OBITUARY

Henry R. Kuiper, the son of John and Helen VanLaar Kuiper, was born January 8, 1912, at Alton, Iowa. He grew up in Alton and attended grade school there. He was united in marriage to Irene A. Versteeg on May 9, 1934 in Elk Point, South Dakota.

After their marriage, the couple lived in Alton where he was employed by the Alton Rendering Service. They moved to Paullina in 1936, where he was associated with the Alton Premium Feed Co. as a salesman. Henry retired in 1980 because of ill health. In February of 1987, he was admitted to the Wide View Rest Home where he passed away on Sunday, December 27, 1987, reaching the age of 75 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Henry was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, where he had served as a deacon. He had been a Chamber of Commerce member for at least 30 years, served on the fire department for 22 years, was a Boy Scout leader, served on the Town Council, and had been a member of the Flying Club for many years. He was a member of Fulton Lodge of Paullina and Past Master and also belonged to me Rising Star Lodge in Primghar. He was a member of the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple. Henry was known as an avid fisherman.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Irene of Paullina; daughter: Muriel and husband Philip of Paullina; son: Gordon and wife Lora Lee of Little Rock, Iowa; one sister: Mrs. Bernice Huisman of Orange City; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Henry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.
