Services Held For Clarence L. Hedin

Funeral services for Clarence L. Hedin of Paullina were held Tuesday morning, December 5, at the Presbyterian Church of Paullina. Mr. Hedin passed away Saturday, December 2 following a long illness, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 3 days.

Rev. Carl Soderberg, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, was the clergyman. Pallbearers were Curtis Hedin, Kendall Hedin, Gregory Hedin, William Ewoldt, David Ewoldt, and Craig Daily. Honorary pallbearers were George Callenius, Dan Struve, Sr., William Reekers, Frank Oosterhuis, Carl Wesemann, Orville Hatfield and Henry Rohwer.

Mrs. Vernon Kaiser and Mrs. Bob Porter sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and the congregation sang "My Faith Looks Up to Thee". Mrs. Otis Grosvenor was the organist.

Final resting place was Prairie View Cemetery near Paullina with arrangements under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

Mr. Hedin was born March 30, 1899, in O'Brien County. He attended rural schools and farmed in the area until retiring in 1965. He married Margaret Sundquist Sept. 5, 1,921. Mrs. Hedin died in 1968. He was a member of Abu Bekr Shrine in Sioux City and Masonic Lodge in Paullina.

Survivors include a son, Dale, of Granville; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Marilyn) Ewoldt of Paullina; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a brother, Forrest, of Sheldon.
