CARL C. KAY CALLED BY DEATH

Passes Away Sunday A. M. After Lingering Illness Covering More Than Six Years

Sunday morning at two o'clock Carl C. Kay answered the summons of death and passed from the circle of his family. The end came as a result of more than six years of sickness which started with a stroke of paralysis in July 1916. Funeral services were held from the home and the Zion Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Semmann, of that church officiating. Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery.

The deceased Mr. Carl C. Kay was born September 14, 1854, in Schwarzbach, Schleswig Holstein, Germany. At the age of twenty-eight he came to this country, locating In Lake County Indiana. His parents and only sister remained in Germany. In 1884 Mr. Kay moved to O'Brien County.

On November 20, 1892, he was united in wedlock with Miss Louise Awe. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Paullina. This union was blessed with three children one of which, the only daughter, Meta, was called from this earth in 1911, the other two, Harry and Edward with bereaved wife, mourn the death of the father and husband.

Mr. Kay enjoyed exceptionally good health until a stroke of paralysis befell him on July 29, 1916. Since that day he was confined to his home. He was a very patient sufferer these six years, knowing that a time was in store for him also when all his suffering would be changed to unspeakable joy. He was bedfast since November 5, 1920.

His end came on Sunday morning at two o'clock being then 68 years, 1 month and 15 days old. Besides the aforementioned wife and two sons, his departure is mourned by two daughters-in-law, three grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
