Funeral Services Held Here For Mrs. Roth

Last rites for Mrs. Katherine E. Roth were held Monday, February 18, at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Martin Peters officiating. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.

Mrs. Roth, a resident of Paullina for 32 years, was born October 24, 1865, at West Bend, Wisconsin, and lived in South Dakota for a number of years. Her husband, Henry, died in 1911, and she came to Paullina in 1925. Three sons and one daughter also preceded.

Surviving are seven daughters and two sons: Mrs. Johanna Stiffel of Tripp, South Dakota, Mrs. Henrietta Boldenow of Chokio. Minnesota, Mrs. August (Emma) Riedemann, Mrs. Helen Elder and Mrs. Albert (Bertha) Kamrath, all of Paullina, Mrs. Clara Vigen of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Mrs. Frieda Pelton of Le Mars, Rev. Clarence Roth of Easton, Pennsylvania and Edwin Roth at home. There are 18 grandchildren. 37 great-great-grandchildren and 1 one great-great-great grandchild. All of Mrs. Roth's children and 13 of her grandchildren were able to be present at the services.

Pallbearers were six of her grandsons: Donald White of Sioux City, Burnell Riedemann of Calumet, Donald Riedemann of Cherokee, William Neihoff of Larkspur, California, Edwin Boldenow of Ortonville, Minnesota and Adolph Knopp of Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Mrs. James Meyer sang in German, "Jesus Leads Thou On," accompanied by Mrs. Milton Ehlers.

Among other relatives from a distance who were present were: Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Heck, Mrs. Eva DeKruif, all of Wilmont, South Dakota, Mrs. Clarence Roth of Easton, Pennsylvania, Edwin Boldenow and Mrs. Walter Rasmussen of Ortonville, Minnesota, Mrs. Adolph Knopp of Albert Lea, Mrs. Fred Roth, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Roth, Al Martin and Otto Neihoff, all of Avon, South Dakota, Jack Vigen and Mrs. Donald White of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Macomb of Pipestone, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Steenhoven and family of Ruthon, Minnesota, Mrs. Miller Forrester of Sioux City and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hemmings of Canton, South Dakota.
