Services Held for Fritz R. Kamrath

Services for Fritz R. Kamrath were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 1986, at the Zion Lutheran Church at Paullina, Iowa, with the Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. The pallbearers were Don White, Robert MaComb, Albert Nielsen, Fred Wilkens, Burnell Riedemann and Howard Peavey. "Nearer my God to Thee" and "I'm But a Stranger Here" were sung by the congregation with Mrs. Verla Hibbing at the organ. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Fritz R. Kamrath, the son of August and Ida Bielke Kamrath, was born January 14, 1902, in Spring Township, Cherokee County, Iowa. He received his education in Liberty Township Cherokee County schools. After which he started farming in Cherokee County for several years.

In 1941 he was united in marriage to Minnie Roth. After their marriage the couple settled in Paullina where Fritz was employed as a carpenter. His wife preceded him in death in 1954.

Fritz continued to make his home in Paullina and the last several months he had been a resident of the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina. He passed away on Sunday, December 21, 1986, at the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 84 years, 11 months and 7 days.

Fritz was baptized on February 16, 1902, and later confirmed in April of 1917, into the Lutheran faith at St. Markus [Mark's] Lutheran Church in Liberty Township, Cherokee County, Iowa. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.

Fritz leaves to mourn his passing one brother, August Kamrath of Lakefield, Minn.; also many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Wilhelm and Albert; and two sisters, Marie and Lena.
