Memorial graveside services for Amanda Dorthea Young, 97, Aurelia, formerly of Storm Lake, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

She died Friday, Nov. 28, at the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia, where she bad been a resident for several years.

Amanda was born August 4, 1900, in Freeman, S.D., to Bernhard and Wilhelmina (Puhrmann) Boysen. She received her education in Paullina.

On August 24, 1924, she married Raymond Young at her parents' home in Nebraska. They farmed in the Marcus area until 1950, when they moved to Storm Lake. Amanda worked for Buena Vista County Hospital, the Harbor House, and as a certified home health aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband - Raymond Young on Dec. 14, 1973; a son, Dale Young, on Jan. 2, 1978; two sisters - Ella and Martha; and two brothers - Walter and Ferd.

Survivors include a daughter - Marian Young, Storm Lake; a son - Bernard Young, Studio City, Calif.; a daughter-in-law - Joann Young, Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
