Donald Bloodgood Dead

This community was dreadfully shocked yesterday afternoon about five o'clock when it was announced that Donald William Bloodgood had passed from this life at the home of his mother, Mrs. Jessie Bloodgood. He had been very ill for the past two weeks.

Until Monday of this week it was not known definitely what the ailment was. At that time Dr. Johnson, of Cherokee, was summoned for consultation and he and the attending physician, pronounced it a case of typhoid. The past week the patient had been unconscious most of the time. The end came quite unexpectedly and suddenly. The grief is heavy to bear for the mother and the family but they have the consolation that they had done all that they could do for the relief of the one they loved so dearly.

Donald William Bloodgood was born March 15, 1900. He was the third son of Mrs. Jessie Bloodgood. He was a member of the senior class of our high school and would have graduated this spring. He was a member of the local Presbyterian Church and was regular in attendance at the services. He held the position of Librarian in the Sunday school.

The passing of this young life at the time that it was coming into the strength of young and promising manhood is a severe shock to his many friends and his bereaved family. Don was a very agreeable companion with his young friends and they will mourn deeply his early death.

Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church Friday afternoon at one-thirty, Rev. Williams officiating. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery.

Those who live to mourn the death of the deceased are his mother, Mrs. Jessie Bloodgood, three brothers, Carl, Harry and Robert, and two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Carlson and Esther.
