Services held for Bertha Schulz

Funeral services for Bertha Schulz were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 1991, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiating. The Honorary Pallbearers were Lorenz Stoever, Warren Ver Ploeg, Edward Beermann, and Rodney Anderson. The pallbearers were Wally Tesch, Gene Wallin, Harold Appeldorn, Donald Richter, Wilbur Kaiser and Henry Appeldorn. "Amazing Grace" and "Take My Hand Precious Lord" were sung by the Zion Lutheran Church Choir. N.H. Behrens served as organist. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, IA, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Bertha Schulz, the daughter of Charles and Emma Dobbertin Lange, was born November 25, 1896, in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. She received her education at St. John's Lutheran School in Germantown.

On May 4, 1920, she was united in marriage to John Schulz in Paullina, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Paullina for many years except for nine years of farming in Donnelly, Minnesota. While in Paullina, the couple owned and operated several businesses.

Her husband preceded her in death on May 6, 1951, in Paullina. She continued to make her home in Paullina until passing away at her home on Saturday, October 12, 1991, reaching the age of 94 years, 10 months and 17 days.

She was baptized on December 25, 1896 and later confirmed on March 20, 1910, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. She was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina and the Dorcas Society of the church.

Bertha is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: husband; four sisters and three brothers.
