Anna M. Haht

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna M. Haht were held at Zion Lutheran Church last Friday, with the Rev. Paul Sohn officiating.

Mrs. Haht was born Dec. 13, 1873 at Blue Island, Illinois. She was baptized in the Lutheran church at Blue Island in 1876. While she was still a child, the family moved to the Germantown community where her father became one of the charter members of the Germantown church.

In 1892 she was married to Henry Haht. For the first 17 years of their married life they lived on a farm southwest of Paullina. They then moved to another farm in the Paullina community where they spent the remainder of their lives. Her husband passed away in 1943.

Three sisters, two brothers and three sons preceded her in death.

Surviving to mourn her are five sons: John of Rapid City, South Dakota, Ernest of Primghar, William of Sanborn, Harry of San Francisco, California, and Emil of Paullina; three daughters, Marie of Paullina, Velma Knuth of Beresford, South Dakota, and Agnes DeWaay of Pacioma, California; and 16 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.

Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Franzen, Harry Rohrs, Clarence Rohlfsen, Allen Busch, Harry Crouse, and August Puhrmann. Special music was furnished by Mrs. James Meyer. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Ehlers and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Puhrmann were in charge of the flowers.
