Herman John Jacobs, who died at his home here Wednesday morning, September 14, was buried in Prairie View Cemetery following funeral services held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. L.R. Middents, pastor of the Presbyterian church was in charge of the service.

Herman Jacobs was born on a Union Township farm, near Paullina, January 5, 1886, a son of Claus and Anna Jacobs.

He was married to Mavis O. Thompson of Paullina on May 21, 1913. To them were born two children: Erma (Mrs. Ray Kluender) and Robert C. Jacobs.

Herman Jacobs served as a member of the board of trustees for Union township for about twenty-five years.

Surviving Mr. Jacobs are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Kluender; a son, Dr. Robert C. Jacobs of Mexico City, Mexico; a sister, Mrs Ben Heilman, and a brother, William Jacobs of LaHabra, California.
