Funeral servicess were held at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley on Friday, April 11, 1975, for Otto Dooley Wagner with Rev. Bernard Sayler officiating. Interment was at the Prairie View Cemetery at Hartley, Iowa, and the Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Otto Dooley Wagner, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Bietsell Wagner, was born December 29, 1895 in Wheatland, Iowa, Clinton County. He was educated in the schools at Wheatland.
He came to Hartley, Iowa area in 1914, and served with the Army during World War I, returning to Hartley, and has made his home here since then. He farmed for ten years, operated a cafe for some years, and the Wagner Nursing Home from 1946-1966.
He was united in marriage at Spencer, Iowa, to Lillie Meiske on February 15, 1921. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ of Hartley, Iowa, and Arthur Kirchoff Post No. 288.
He passed away at Comunity Memorial Hospital in Hartley on April 9, 1975 at the age of 78. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife in 1958, three brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish his memory oare two sons, Dean Wagner and his wife Joyce, and Otto Junior Wagner, and his wife Joyce, and one grandson, Korey; one sister, Lena Morgan of Wheatland, and other relatives and friends.
